The best part of #BlogHer16 was undoubtedly all of the incredible women bloggers I met. I made new friends, got creative ideas, and learned so much. I’ve never been to a conference before where attendees were so friendly. I didn’t know anyone else going into it—but I’m coming away with several new friends, whom I will stay in touch with.
I thought I’d share the ultimate list of wonderful people that I met and their blogs, so that you can get to know them as well! If you’re looking for some new blogs to read, I highly recommend these ones.
Tip: Rather than following all of these blogs individually, which would completely overwhelm your inbox, I use BlogLovin’ to follow my favorite blogs.
A Date With Fashion by Denyelle Nelson
Denyelle was the first person I met at BlogHer! I asked her to take a picture of me with the #BlogHer16 surfboard, and then we started chatting. We ended up getting drinks together and she shared great tips about primer.
Back to Basics Mom by Michelle Dettman
Michelle works for the Adoption Center of Hope and blogs about adoption and life on her family’s farm.
Don’t Mind the Mess by Jessica Woodbury
Jessica was a panelist, and the only other book blogger I met at the conference! She also writes for one of my favorite book blogs, BookRiot.
My Daily Pill by Sharon Lippman
Sharon described her blog as about “everything and nothing” as a newly single mom re-entering the dating world and navigating life.
The Vegan Vamp by Henna
Henna is based in Australia and writes about vegan living, beauty, fashion, and the vegan lifestyle.
Em-i-lis by Emily Nichols Grossi
Emily is a stay at home mom who loves cooking. She has a TON of amazing-looking recipes I can’t wait to try!
The LA Girl by Gwen Paja
Completely by chance, I stood next to Gwen at the closing party last night, and people kept coming up to her gushing, saying “I just had to say hi… I follow you!” Her LA lifestyle blog is an amazing resource for Angelenos. Gwen also just launched Elegant Blogger, a site dedicated to helping bloggers improve their craft.
Heather’s Hangout by Heather Hall
Heather is just so sweet. She is a cancer survivor and all around optimist, writing about travel in the U.S.
Yippie Chicks by Darcy and Miel
Identical twins Darcy and Miel are so cool. They blog about sustainable living, money, Oregon, and much more! Darcy just moved into an old home in Astoria, OR, that has a very unique library. Stay tuned for an interview with her soon!
Rachel is a very talented artist who uses her site to sell art and teach classes. Check it out! She also works for WP Engine and had some great advice about web hosting.
Rocket Mommy by Katrina Hetrick
Katrina is an awesome SAHM who blogs about parenting and shares all of the incredible crafts she does with her kids.
MomsLA by Yvonne Condes and Sarah Auerswald
Yvonne and Sarah were featured on a panel about monetization, where they shared their hyperlocal strategies for getting support from the community.
Amanda writes books to help parents understand their children’s special needs.
Starting Over @ Sixty by Paula Daniel Harer
I sat with Paula and her lovely daughter, Kevyn, at lunch on Friday. Paula blogs about being newly single at sixty.
Groknation by Mayim Bialik
It was such a treat hearing Mayim Bialik at the lunchtime Q&A on Saturday. “Grok” is a verb that means “to understand (something) intuitively or by empathy.” On Grok, Mayim and guest bloggers write about all kinds of things—as Mayim said, “Because I think about so many things. Because I’m allowed.”
