As if the beautiful SoCal sunshine and the fact that my little sister turns 21 today isn’t enough, my post “The Books that Mentored Me” is being syndicated by BlogHer.
Yep, that’s right. I’m on the front page of one of the biggest communities of women bloggers.
And you know what that means? It means I’m a Blogger for Real.

While this is in actuality a small milestone in the grand scheme of life, it’s as good a time as any to acknowledge the fact that it takes a village to build a blog. Please indulge me while I blubber Anne Hathaway-style:
I’d like to thank my husband, Andrew, for encouraging me in blogging and for being the one person I KNOW will read my posts. I love you. Thank you, Caitlin, Amanda, Kate, Caryn, Rachel, Olivia, Maggie, and all of my other friends who’ve cheered me on, celebrating the little moments of joy that come with blogging. Thank you, Dr. Griesinger, for telling me that I can do things I never thought I could and inspiring me to continue learning about the intersection of faith, feminism, and literature. Thank you, Carol, for mentoring me, for believing in me. Thank you, Sara, for always being here. Thank you, Mom and Dad, for fostering in me a love for books and justice and God.
Thank you, readers, for joining me on this journey. Here’s to many more milestones! Cheers!
