Today I am celebrating 100 posts on my blog!
In kindergarten we kept track of the days of school by adding a paper link to a chain everyday. Eventually we had a paper chain stretching across the ceiling. We learned numbers as we counted the days and, for some reason, we looked forward to the 100th day of school.
To celebrate that 100th day, we each had to prepare a 100 project. I chose to present 100 pairs of Barbie shoes. We collected shoes and my parents graciously bought more Barbie clothes for me so I could harvest the shoes. On a thick display board I colored pathways that led to a little church. With my mom’s help, I hot glued each tiny pair of shoes along the path. I was so proud!
On the 100th day, we had a special assembly. We gathered in the courtyard and the principal said a prayer. Then we each got a balloon and sent them flying away into the blue California sky. I remember all of us gazing up with wonder, trying to watch each little dot in the sky until it disappeared.
100 is an accomplishment, reaching the three digits. It’s exciting and I feel just as proud as I did when I made my Barbie shoe path. I don’t have any Barbie shoes or balloons to celebrate 100 posts today, but I have compiled a few lists of 100s that I’m going to post over the next few days. (Got to start working my way up to 200 now!)
Thank you, all of my wonderful readers, for joining me in the past year of blogging. This blog has been a huge blessing to me and I value all of the relationships I’ve been able to make through it. Happy 100!
